We all know Buddhism is one of the leading religions in the world. There are many sacred texts and the teachings are of immense wisdom. Yet fewer of us are aware that Buddhism is more about actions. Its essence lies in dynamism. The century-old sutras are filled with youthful vitality that can lead our lives to full blossom. Nichiren Buddhism is a Buddhist sect that emphasizes particularly in applying the teaching to our daily lives. The highest path of practice is to live the teaching as we refine our characters for the better, achieve our goals and dreams, and attain genuine happiness.

In this meeting, we will give a general view of Nichiren Buddhism. We will explain general concepts, and illustrate it with practitioners' real-life experiences. We will demonstrate the spiritual practice of chanting, which participants should be readily grasp and master right away. There are also skits, games and light refreshments. It'd be fun, informative and inspirational.

We welcome everyone to come to find out more about this wonderful spiritual practice.

Quotes

"The human being is not a frail wretch at the mercy of fate. Shakyamuni (Siddartha Gautama Buddha) insisted that to change oneself now is to change the future on a vast scale. The Western impression that Buddhism is all about meditation is alien to the spirit of Shakyamuni. The goal of Nichiren Buddhism is neither escape from reality nor passive acceptance. It is to live strongly, proactively, in such a way as to refine one's own life and reform society through a constant exchange between the outside world and the individual's inner world." - Daisaku Ikeda
