We all have weaknesses that are difficult to overcome, or often reluctant to admit: being lazy, lack of patience, short temper, easy to jealous, carelessness.

The fact is that, every person in this planet need to battle our own unique negative tendency. These negative tendencies are inherent to our own - a manifestation from the deepest core of our lives, or our soul. When we resolve to achieve something, to challenge our weaknesses, a negative voice inside us always tell, "No you can't". More vividly, this dark sides of us are our own "evil twins" that is dual to our positive self. The horrible truth is that, this evil twin will never take vacation, never shut up. Whenever we go to work, eat, or relax, the evil twin will work overtime, 24 hours a day, blocking us from attaining happiness.

With wisdoms of thousands of years that addresses the fundamental natures of human lives, we will discuss how the spiritual practice of Buddhism can help us overcoming our negative characters, to win over and even befriend our own"evil twins", where our negative life tendencies can be transformed into boundless source of developments and benefits.

Quotes

"When we plant the seeds of self- doubt, only noxious weeds sprout. When we limit ourselves with low expectations, the growth of the tree of happiness immediately ceases. The power of growth, of improvement, the power to overcome all stagnation and break through every obstacle and transform a barren wasteland into a verdant field - that unstoppable power of hope resides right there in your own heart. It will well up from the rich earth of your innermost being when you face the future without doubt or fear: "I can do more. I can grow. I can become a bigger and better human being" - life and faith are a never-ending struggle to grow."

- Daisaku Ikeda, President of Soka Gakkai International (SGI)
